There are more than 340 hostels located throughout the country, so you're sure to find something to suit your taste wherever you are in the country. The average overnight fee is $16 - $20 and the type of accommodation ranges from dormitories (more than four beds per room and shared facilities) to single double and twin rooms with private bathrooms. Prices can be as low as NZ$12 per night in dormitories.
